August 2 @ 6:00 pm - August 20 @ 11:00 pm
Following their hugely successful summer productions of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2015) and Romeo & Juliet (2016) Barbican Theatre return to Royal William Yard with Shakespeare’s chaotic comedy Twelfth Night from 2 – 20 August.
A total of 18 performances will be staged outdoors in the stunning Residence One Garden at Royal William Yard. The production is part of Barbican Theatre’s commitment to creating high quality, accessible work while supporting and developing local talent.
Twelfth Night is Shakespeare’s chaotic comedy about partying, identity, cross-dressing and the search for true love. A story where nobody is quite what they seem and absolutely anything seems possible. Identical twins are shipwrecked and lost from each other in a strange, upside down world. To survive “she” pretends to be a “he” and “he” ends up caught in a mad tangle of love. And then along with love, there’s tight lipped meanness completely undone by a pair of bright yellow stockings!
