Between March and September 2014 a series of sunfish sculptures were designed by Business Administration and Environmental Services apprentices from Plymouth City Council. This was part of the Plymouth Making Waves project was was set up to showcase local talent and celebrate Plymouth as one of the best places in England to complete an apprenticeship. The sunfish sculptures were sponsored by local businesses and painted by a number of artists. In September they will be auctioned off to raise money for local marine conservation projects.
