How to Make Perfect Popcorn Every Time
It’s often the little pleasures in life that make the difference. There’s little more pleasant than settling down to watch a film with bowl of home made popcorn. Ironically, although popcorn is meant to be easy to cook, finding great tasting popcorn at home is rarer than hen’s teeth. Never fear though, we have a recipe here that’ll help you produce perfect popcorn every time.
The Ingredients
- 1/3 cup popping corn
- 1 covered saucepan
- 3 tbsp grapeseed oil or peanut oil
- 2 tbsp or more butter (if required)
- Salt to taste (if required)
The Method
Heat the oil in the saucepan on medium heat.
Put 4 or 5 popcorn kernels into the oil and cover the pan.
When the kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn kernels, in as even a layer as you can. Cover the pan and take it off the heat for 30 seconds.
Return the pan to the heat. The popcorn will soon start to pop. Once the popping really gets going, shake the pan gently over the heat. Keep the lid slightly ajar as will release the steam from the popcorn. the result will be drier and crispier popcorn. When the popping slows down to a few seconds between pops, take it off the heat. Then you must tip the popcorn straight away into a wide bowl.
Add the melted butter or salt to taste.
The Next Step
That’s it! But to be really good at anything you you have to practise. I’m sure you’ll find an excuse.
